As the Nepali Government has permitted the educational institutes to take admissions and conduct examinations after 1st Bhadra (17 August), the National Examination Board (NEB) has started preparations to conduct various examinations.

The NEB has completed internal preparations to conduct Grade 12 Examinations in the first or second week of Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October).

Earlier, the Board had postponed the Grade 11 and Grade 12 Examinations on 25th Chaitra because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Around 756,000 candidates of class 11 and 12 are supposed to attend the examinations, among which 432,000 students belong to Grade 12.

The NEB has arranged 1,147 examination centers across the country for class 12 exams. However, additional examination centers are required as the examinations have to be conducted by maintaining social distancing.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Government has established quarantine centers in 172 examination centers across the country. Butwal has the highest number of quarantines in 36 examination centers.

So, the examinations can be conducted only after vacating the centers.

“After the completion of the preparation of the examination center, at least three weeks will be given. The examination of class 12 will be conducted by the second week of Ashoj at most,” said Exam Controller Krishna Prasad Sharma.

Schools to Conduct Class 11 Exams

The NEB has approved the new procedure for conduction class 11 examinations. As per the procedure, the schools will conduct the class 11 examinations and make the results public. So, the class 11 students of the year 2076 should take class 11 examinations conducted by the school before applying for class 12.

“Only those who get a minimum grade D+ in class 11 will be able to fill the application form for class 12,” said Exam Controller Sharma.
