Idris Elba confirms Luther movie 'is happening' and promises 'bold' action
Idris Elba has confirmed that a movie version of BBC show Luther "is happening" – and it sounds like he has big plans for what will happen.
The 47-year-old discussed the crime drama project backstage at the 2020 BAFTA TV Awards after he took home the Special Award for his contributions to TV as an actor, writer and producer.
He said: "I've maintained I'd like to see it come to a film, and that is where I think we are heading towards... And I'm looking forward to making that happen. It is happening."
Idris added to Digital Spy: "With film, the sky is the limit. You can be a little bit more bold with the storylines.
